Air compressors have a very wide range of uses in the medical field and have very strict requirements. The medical air source is connected to the medical air distribution system and can only be used for human respiration and calibration of respiratory equipment medical equipment, so it is vital that the medical air is clean and oil-free.
Commonly used air compression for medical applications are oil-free scroll compressors, micro-oil or oil-free screw air compressors, micro-oil or oil-free piston compressors, and so on. In addition to the air compressor, the system usually contains coolers, dryers, filters, tanks and monitoring equipment such as dew point monitoring and CO monitoring.
The main types of compressor heads commonly used for medical air compressors are as follows:
1. Oil-free scroll compressors
Function: Compresses gas by scroll disk rotation, compact, low noise, high efficiency, suitable for small and medium flow, medium and low pressure applications, commonly used in small medical equipment.
2. Micro-oil or oil-free screw compressors
Function: Utilizing screw rotary compression of gas, smooth operation, low noise, suitable for large flow, medium and low pressure applications, commonly used in hospital centralized gas supply system.
3. Micro-oil or oil-free piston compressor
Function: compressing gas by reciprocating piston, simple structure, easy maintenance, suitable for small flow, high pressure scenarios, commonly used in small medical equipment.
4. Micro-oil or oil-free centrifugal compressor
Function: compresses gas through high-speed rotating impeller, high flow rate and stable pressure, suitable for large flow rate and low pressure scenarios, mostly used in large hospitals.
